Crisis in Packwood

If any of you have been reading An Englishman in Nyu-Gun you'll be familiar with my obsession with my namesake town Packwood, Lewis County, WA. It's my stated mission to visit said town and proclaim myself as its rightful king.

Well, it seems that I may already be too late - there's a very real danger that Packwood may not be there by the time I get round to visiting, sorry, conquering: catastrophic floods have caused the town to be evacuated, with at least one house having been washed away. You can read the news report here.

Is this the end for Packwood?

PS. I'm in Wellington, New Zealand at the moment - can't believe it's exactly a month till I'll be back in the UK...

Lewis,

I will give you a report on your town that you share a namesake. I am going there in two weeks.

And I'll get it rebuilt by the time you visit next summer. And prepare them for the entrance of the King of Town.

Hey Lewis- I just moved to Portland, so I've been frequently driving through Lewis County to get home. I don't know about Packwood, but the freeway portion of the county seems to be back in business! Hopefully you'll be able to come as soon as you make your millions through journalism...
